The 5 Best FIRE Links

http://www.apathyends.com/lifestyle-inflation/

Chris over at AE wrote a great post about lifestyle inflation. This is something I’ve personally let go uncontrolled in the not-so-distant past. This post includes a great way to track if you’re letting lifestyle inflaiton get in the way of your future.

Tanja at ONL lays out her answers to the question: why retire in an expensive state like California? I’ve recently written posts about geoarbitrage and making a high cost of living location work for you, so this question amongst others has been at the forefront of my mind. At the end of the day, THERE ARE NO ABSOLUTES! Retirement is a highly personal matter, design the life you want to live.

In this post, Mr. Crazy Kicks lays out an awesome alternative to buying a massively overpriced laptop. I strongly considered buying this very model, but my HEAVY photographic processing needs and massive image files demanded a little bit more horsepower, unfortunately. Barring heavy photo/video editing or gaming, this laptop is the only laptop anyone should really need at the moment.

Kevin recaps his time at this year’s FinCon in Texas. Even as a relatively new blogger, I’ve heard of FinCon and I’m very tempted to attend next year! It looks like a great time and a fantastic chance to meet other bloggers in the FIRE/personal finance space. So far, I’ve found it to be a warm and inviting community.

https://www.financialsamurai.com/the-best-10-reasons-to-start-an-online-business/

Sam at Financial Samurai inspired me to start this blog earlier this year and yet again he’s spot-on about reasons to start an online business. I jive with everything he says here and have explored online businesses for the last few months. Now that I don’t have to get outside business interests pre-cleared, I’m both free to start monetizing this site and start other types of online businesses. More on both later as I get results!

That’s All, Folks

That’s all I’ve got for you this week. Go forth and conquer the weekend as a slightly wiser version of yourself!

Which post(s) resonated with you most this week? Is there a post that you loved that you think I should check out? Let me know!
